Hi John.

I know many families are struggling with higher prices. And one area that I know hits many families particularly hard is the cost of prescription drugs.

No one should have to choose between paying for lifesaving medicines or their groceries. That’s why I helped pass a new law that stands up to the big drug companies. It finally lets Medicare cap insulin prices at $35 a month and negotiate for lower prescription drug prices.

The law is already making a difference in people’s lives. But now, Big Pharma is suing to overturn it in court. I’m going to keep fighting to lower the cost of prescription drugs, and want to hear more about your concerns in my survey >>

Should Congress protect and build on recent steps like Medicare's insulin cost cap to keep lowering prescription drug costs?

There’s no reason why Kansans should pay more than three times what folks in other nations pay for their medicines – especially while drug companies make huge profits.

That's why I made it a top priority to lower the cost of prescription drugs since taking office. And last year, I was glad to help pass a law that finally makes substantial progress.

The new law caps the cost of insulin for seniors on Medicare at $35 a month. It also lets Medicare finally negotiate for lower prices. Congress certainly has more to do, but this is the kind of substantial progress Kansans need. But the last thing anyone needs are big drug companies using their power and money to take those protections away.

I know many folks are having a hard time with higher costs. If you need any resources – whether for prescription drugs or gas, groceries, taxes, housing, or more – please visit davids.house.gov/lowercosts. My team recently updated my resources page to help Kansans access relief.

I’m always here for you, regardless of party. I hope to hear from you soon.

My warmest regards,
