John, when conflict strikes, it tends to be most devastating for the least responsible – a nation’s children.
Nowhere is this clearer than in Syria. After over a decade of war, more than half of the country’s kids have seen their childhood consumed by violence, fear and uncertainty. Earlier this year, the situation became even more dire when multiple 7+ magnitude earthquakes struck the Türkiye-Syria border, displacing many Syrian children for the second or third time.
But children are remarkably resilient. And thanks to the generosity of champions for children like you, we’re working to help Syrian children confront their grief, address their trauma and begin to recover from their harrowing experiences. Since the earthquakes, we’ve helped many of them take photos that capture their environment and share their experiences with the rest of the world.
Today, we’re honored to share their photos and their words with you in this child-led photography exhibit: Click here to view “Out of the Rubble: Earthquakes, conflict and destruction through the eyes of Syria’s children.”
