The principles of federalism are at the very heart of our nation's constitution, which seeks to strike a balance between local, state, and federal government powers. This is not just a question of how your taxpayer dollars are spent, but also who ultimately gets to govern your life.
In the vast majority of cases, I believe in the power of the 10th Amendment: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people”. This foundational principle is more important now than ever before, as we seek to address the unique needs of our constituents here in Ohio.
