Team – it’s been over a year since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and eliminated nationwide protections guaranteeing reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy.

The bad news is that since then, fourteen states have passed total abortion bans – even though a majority of Americans oppose these extreme measures.

But the good news is that seventeen states have passed measures to protect reproductive rights, and several others have blocked efforts to ban abortion.

To protect reproductive freedom in more states across the country, we must make sure voters can make their voices heard. That’s why the NDRC is working across the country to combat GOP efforts to undermine our democracy.

Republicans know that their far-right, anti-choice agenda is a losing message. But instead of trying to persuade voters, they want to change the rules to make it easier to enforce minority rule.

❌ In states like Arkansas, Missouri, Ohio, and Oklahoma, Republicans are working to make it harder to pass citizen-led ballot initiatives that protect abortion rights.

❌ In North Carolina, gerrymandered maps helped Republicans secure a veto-proof majority in the legislature – even though the GOP only won by half a point statewide! As a result, Republicans were able to pass an extreme 12-week abortion ban.

❌ And across the country, states are still passing new voting restrictions – including an unprecedented move in Texas that allows state lawmakers to overturn election results from the state’s most diverse and most Democratic city.

A.G. Holder: “Republicans are making it clear that they will do whatever it takes – even if it means eroding our federalist system as we know it – to circumvent the will of the people so they can lock in their own power.”

Team, it’s clear that too many Republicans believe the only way they can win is by silencing voters' voices. But we know that if we can protect our democratic system, we have the power to elect leaders who will protect reproductive rights.

That’s why the NDRC won’t stop fighting for electoral fairness. Will you support our work with a quick donation today?
