We hope you have had a great week and 4th of July! As we celebrate our nation’s independence we also honor the heroes in our nation’s history who have fought to make our country an equal and free place for everyone.

 

After celebrating the 4th with the community, Congressman Kim was busy in New Jersey meeting with healthcare providers, discussing ways to combat local food insecurity, learning more about local addiction recovery services, and more.

 

July is also Disability Pride Month! We are committed to ensuring equality and opportunity for everyone as we build a more accessible and inclusive future.

Starting the Summer Off Strong with Constituent Services Success

A Day Spent at the YMCA!

 

Earlier this week, Congressman Kim visited the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County where he spoke about how much it supports our community and his commitment to supporting YMCA’s across NJ. Listen here!

 

We are proud to continue supporting their service to our community with legislation to help get kids summer meals and a funding request to create physical spaces that bolster their incredible programs.

Congressman Kim Learns More About CARE

 

Robbinsville's Community Addiction Recovery Effort (CARE) team works tirelessly to connect people to lifesaving treatment. This week, Congressman Kim discussed with the CARE team how we can work together to ensure NJ treatment centers always have space for people in need and how we can help them expand their services to assist more people.

Congressman Kim Meets with the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNA)

 

This week, Congressman Kim met with the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNA) at the Freehold Family Health Center to discuss ways to make sure our healthcare system works for providers and people and ways to support their care and service in our community. The facility is operated by the CHC and provides comprehensive primary and specialty care offered through the Rutgers Family Medicine Residency Program at CentraState (the only such program in NJ). 

 

From primary to specialty care, the Congressman works in Congress to deliver affordable options and bolster the healthcare workforce.

Talking with the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) 

 

This Thursday, the Congressman visited TASK to learn more about their operation that delivers over 10,000 meals to our community each week and provides different career and personal development support services. They discussed their shared mission to end hunger and the importance of a strong and expansive SNAP program to combat food insecurity.

ICYMI: Small Business Owners Can Apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans

 

Following the I-95 bridge collapse, small businesses in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties are eligible to apply for a low-interest Economic Injury Disaster Loans from the Small Business Administration.

 

UPCOMING DEADLINE: Fall Internship Applications

 

We are hiring for our fall intern cohort in our New Jersey and Washington DC offices! It is a great opportunity to learn more about the legislative process, practice your political communication skills, and serve your local New Jersey community!
