We've been crunching the numbers.

Friends, since we updated you last night about the important work that supporters like you are making possible to flip NY-24, we’ve been crunching the numbers, and we need your help. We have great momentum to take back this seat -- and our government -- for the people, but our GOP incumbent opponent is backed by far-right special interests who are pouring massive amounts of corporate PAC money into his campaign coffers.

We have to fight back. Right now, we still need to bring in $4,326 to reach our January grassroots fundraising goal, ramp up our voter outreach operation, and keep organizing to flip this swing seat.

Will you chip in right now with the most generous amount you can to help us close this gap by tomorrow at midnight and fuel our people-powered campaign?

Together we’ll make this happen,

Team Dana

Dana Balter for Congress

The Balter Bulletin - Wednesday, January 29, 2019

Friends,

Our GOP incumbent opponent John Katko announced last week that he's endorsing Donald Trump. He believes that Trump’s made our country better than it was four years ago.

He’s endorsing a man who is trying to rip healthcare away from 130 million people with pre-existing conditions. He’s endorsing a man who blew a $2 trillion hole in our national debt for tax giveaways to the ultra-wealthy and corporations on the backs of working families. He’s endorsing a man who is trying to slash hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. He’s endorsing a man who stokes fear, hatred, and division to maintain power. He’s endorsing a man who started and continues to escalate a reckless trade war that has done massive harm to our small businesses and our family farms. He’s endorsing a man who violated the Constitution, disgraced his oath of office, abused his power, and broke the law by extorting a foreign government to interfere in our elections.

And John Katko believes this man has made us better off than we were four years ago? That tells us an awful lot about John Katko’s vision for our future.

I believe that our families deserve a better future than that, and I’m so glad to have you with me. It’s time for John Katko to go.

If he won’t step down, we’ll have to vote him out.

- Dana

Indivisible We Stand!

Indivisible endorses Dana Balter US Congress NY-24

I was thrilled to receive the endorsement of Indivisible! After five local Indivisible chapters endorsed our campaign this month, the national group joined our movement. Indivisible has been an unbelievable grassroots leader in the years following Donald Trump's election, energizing and mobilizing millions of people to fight for the progressive vision we share. I am so happy to have them on board.I’m so honored to have the endorsements of 16 current and former local elected leaders from each of the 4 counties in NY-24. Together, we are going to put government and power in the hands of the people where they belong!

DeWitt, Let’s Do This!

Photo from our Dewitt House PartyThank you to everyone who came to our house party in DeWitt! It was a wonderful event, full of new friends and old.

We've reignited this movement, and now, we're going to finish the job we started.

Photo from swearing in ceremony of Dewitt town officials
I was proud to stand alongside the DeWitt town officials who were sworn this month. Ed Michalenko, Karen Docter, Sam Young, Kerry Mannion, and Angela Epolito are extraordinary servant leaders. They are models to the rest of the district for how to earn their constituents' trust -- and they've been rewarded for it with another term. Congratulations, and thank you!

Great Discussions with Great Democrats

It was great to speak with the Palmyra Democrats about our movement to put government and power in the hands of the people where it belongs. In 2018, we swung the vote in Wayne County by 15% from the previous election. In 2020, we're going to build on that huge momentum -- and it's thanks to folks like these who show up and fight hard.

Palmyra Democrats

I really enjoyed speaking with the Skaneateles Democratic Committee about our growing movement. In 2018, we flipped the village of Skaneateles -- on our way to beating John Katko in Onondaga County for the very first time. In 2020, we're going to widen that margin: We're going to win the town, and we're going to flip NY-24.

Skaneateles Democratic Committee

The Clay Democrats are a vibrant town committee with an undeniable commitment to putting in the work to turn this district blue. I'm proud to stand alongside them in that fight. Together, we will win.

Clay Democrats

This past November, the Manlius Democrats showed us how it's done -- flipping the town board from 5-1 Republicans to 5-1 Democrats. This coming November, we're going to show that when we follow their lead -- running a true grassroots, organizing-first campaign -- the same thing can be done district-wide. It was great to speak with them about how we're going to make it happen!

Syracuse wards 8 & 10-14 forum

Thank you to everyone who came to the Syracuse wards 8 & 10-14 forum!

We can flip this seat, hold on to the House, and send a bold, progressive woman to Congress. I'm ready to fight for Medicare for All, bold solutions to the climate crisis, common-sense gun safety measures, an economy that works for all of us, and getting big money out of politics.

If we stand together right now, we can send John Katko into retirement.

Democratic Women of Onondaga County forum

At the Democratic Women of Onondaga County forum, I spoke about the unique challenges that women in central New York face. We deserve a congresswoman who understands our experiences and struggles.

I'm ready to go to Washington, D.C., and change the view of what a NY-24 congressperson looks like.
