Friend,

While most of us tried to enjoy our summer BBQs this holiday weekend, Trump’s treasonous allies in Congress have been doing overtime to stab each other in the pack and peddle petty scandals. Marjorie Taylor-Greene was ousted from the Freedom Caucus, Trump’s allies are crying wolf to distract from his ever-growing legal problems, and the insurrectionists think that attacking Biden’s family totally won’t backfire on them again this time.

Meanwhile, President Biden has been laser-focused on continuing to stabilize our economy.

So whose strategy is working for control of Congress? We took a look at the latest non-partisan generic ballot polls to find out:

A few caveats: Only the two YouGov polls actually allow for an apples-to-apples comparison, and as we’ve noted previously, because of gerrymandering, Democrats need a significant generic ballot lead to be considered favorites to win back the House.

It would be premature to say that Democrats are opening up a significant lead. We can, however, state with confidence that there is no evidence that Speaker McCarthy and his MAGA Clown Car Caucus’ Summer of Scandal strategy is working. Like, at all.

American voters made it clear in 2020 that we want a return to drama-free government and constitutional order. We reiterated that demand in the 2022 midterms. If Republicans want to keep pretending it’s 2016 over and over again, so be it. What’s the definition of insanity again?

Add your name if you agree: NO MORE SCANDALS AND FEAR MONGERING. We want competent leadership focused on defending our democracy and strengthening our economy. [[link removed]]
