UPDATE FROM S. KOREA
Dear John,
On June 28th, LCA and our S. Korean sister organization, Animal Liberation Wave, held a protest and press conference in front of the Seoul City Council, demanding the quick passage of the bill to stop the sale of dog and cat meat in Seoul, S. Korea.
Proposed by Councilmember Kim Ji-hyang, the bill stipulates ending the dog and cat meat trade as one of the Mayor of Seoul's duties. The bill aims to have Seoul, the capital of S. Korea, set the pace for banning the dog and cat meat trade in the rest of the country.
