Friend,
I'm excited to share that Ward 6 Week is back - beginning on
Monday, July 17, and running through Sunday, July 23.?
For the uninitiated, Ward 6 Week is an annual
tradition where my team and I organize a whole bunch of events spread
across the dog days of summer to experience the fun and sometimes
unknown parts of life in Ward 6. And best of all, every event is free.
We try to find something that works for everyone and use this time as
a way to slow down and get to know neighbors while enjoying different
activities. Think of it almost like a staycation to get to know your
neighborhood a little better with me!?
I'm really excited about the events we've got lined up. We're going
to check out the latest exhibit at ARTECHOUSE, the
annual summer exhibit at the National Building
Museum, visit a splash park to cool off, jump into trivia on
H Street, take in a Nationals game, host the first
Capitol Hill-wide lemonade stand contest (!), and of course, we'll
have multiple opportunities to enjoy some live outdoor music.?
So how do you get involved?
It's simple. RSVP. You
can find the full event list here.
I will note, for a few events, we likely will have more people
interested than tickets available. In order to play fair, we'll accept
RSVPs until close of business on Monday, July 10. Then, if there's
more demand than we have tickets, we'll hold a lottery to give them
out. And my team will let you know if you've gotten a ticket. For all
events, please RSVP. In the event we need to postpone an event (rain
happens), this is how we'll communicate with you. So please, please,
RSVP even if it's not a ticketed event.
For other events, the more the merrier, and I hope you can come to
as many events as possible. Looking forward to seeing you!
Charles Allen
