I wanted to send a note to thank you for your support during our end-of-quarter fundraising push. I know we reached out a lot during the last few days of this fundraising sprint (trust me, my inbox is as full as yours).

This deadline was a big one, and it means so much to me that you opened emails, chipped in if you could, and showed your continued support for our campaign. It was also amazing to see so many of you at our BBQ in Kingston this weekend!

Your support of my re-election campaign is vital to our long-term success. It’s not a matter of if but when Republican spending will pour into our district. It comes with being in a toss-up district as competitive as this one.

Last year, we got in the fight together, and I will not back down until our values are reflected in our public policy.

But I want to be frank about what we are up against and the realities ahead, just as I mentioned in one of our fundraising pitches last week:

• I’m running for re-election.
• I only won by 2,500 votes last year.
• In 2022, Republicans spent $6 million against me, and they’ve already started spending cash spreading lies ahead of 2024.
• The National GOP named me a top 5 target for defeat.
• Elise Stefanik committed to spending HUGE money against me.
• Our media markets are some of the most expensive in the country.
• 2024 is a presidential year, and we will need to communicate with many more voters.

All of this means that the race in NY-18 in 2024 is going to cost us more than it did in 2022.

Republicans threw everything they had at us before, but they underestimated the strength and resolve of this team. Together, we hit our fundraising goal last week. I want to thank you for continuing to stand shoulder to shoulder with me.
