Hi there,
Special Olympics was the vision of one incredible woman. A woman who believed in inclusion and was willing to act on it. She was a trailblazer for acceptance and a pioneer in the worldwide struggle for rights of people with intellectual disabilities (ID).
Eunice Kennedy Shriver (EKS) was the founder of the Special Olympics movement.
It’s because of her that today we’re transforming the lives of millions of athletes — and, in the process, finding ourselves changed for the better. In honor of EKS’s birthday on Monday, let’s remember her powerful words that still ring true today!
What is your favorite quote from Eunice?
1. You are the stars and the world is watching you. By your presence, you send a message to every village, every city, every nation. A message of hope, a message of victory.
