Republicans are trying to claw back critical drug pricing reforms that are helping lower prescription drug costs for you and millions of other older Americans.
Right now, there are a number of efforts underway to roll back historic legislation passed in the last Congress that is lowering prescription drug prices for seniors and saving Medicare billions of dollars:
-
The Republican Study Committee released their fiscal year 2024 budget plan that would roll back the “Inflation Reduction Act” that includes among other measures, placing a $2,000 out-of-pocket cap on annual drug costs for Medicare beneficiaries and capping insulin costs for seniors at $35 a month.
-
GOP Senators James Lankford (OK), Mike Lee (UT), Cynthia Lummis (WY) and Marco Rubio (FL) introduced the so-called “Protecting Drug Innovation Act” in the last Congress that would have pulled back the authority over drug prices covered by Medicare.

To help us fight efforts by Big Pharma and their allies in Congress to send drug prices sky high, please join with other seniors from your area by SIGNING OUR URGENT PETITION TO CONGRESS TODAY! Your petition will help us put pressure on every member of Congress to reject any bill, amendment or proposal that would force Medicare beneficiaries to pay more for their vital medications.
As you know, high prescription drug prices have forced millions of Medicare beneficiaries to ration doses or skip medications altogether …
That’s what the “Inflation Reduction Act” was intended to address, by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices with Big Pharma. Half of Medicare beneficiaries have incomes under $29,000 a year, and 28% of the average senior’s Social Security benefit is consumed by out-of-pocket medical costs.
And so we cannot afford for Big Pharma to win this fight. The fact is, Congress listens to us because they listen to you. So please add your name right now to our urgent Petition to Congress.
