John,

I wanted to reach out to say thank you. We set out to raise $75,000 to kick off the new fiscal year, and because of your support, we exceeded our goal!

Your generous support is truly transformative for our entire team. It means we’ll be able to hit the ground running on the next year of work with our extraordinary clients. So to everyone who chipped in: thank you so much for your support, it really means the world to all of us.

Fighting to transform the criminal legal system and free innocent people from prison is not easy work, but it’s work that is deeply important to creating a more just and equitable society. And it’s directly because of support from people like you that we’re able to take on all of the challenges that come with it.

So again, many thanks for your support,

Jessica Rawlins Smith

The Innocence Project works to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate, and equitable systems of justice for everyone. Founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, the organization is now an independent nonprofit. Our work is guided by science and grounded in anti-racism.
