Dear advocate, A lot will happen this summer with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) and small business lending. We cordially invite you to join us on July 17th from 12:00 pm ET to 1:45 pm ET for our webinar: Gaining Ground: How the CFPB Helps Consumers and Small Businesses. We are happy to have special remarks from National Urban League President Marc Morial. We will then host two panels featuring national and state partners. - Panel One: Leading the Charge to Protect Consumers: We will focus on CFPB and its vital role in protecting consumers. We will hear from faith leaders, civil rights advocates, and consumer advocates in the communities CFPB serves and coordinate efforts to protect this institution from attacks on its structure and funding.
- Panelists Include:
- Rev. Dr. Cassandra Gould – Senior Strategist, Faith In Action
- Renita Marcellin – Advocacy and Legislative Director, Americans for Financial Reform
- Rob Randhava – Senior Counsel, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights
- Panel Two: Increasing Transparency in Small Business Lending: We will focus on how advocates can continue to fight for transparency within the small business lending industry. We will hear from national and state partners who will discuss the importance of implementing the 1071 rule, and they will also discuss how to advocate and engage with legislators on small business lending.
- Panelists Include:
- Marla Bilonick – President and CEO, National Association for Latino Community Asset Building
- Julian Canete – President and CEO, California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce
- Shayla Moon – Senior Director of Housing and Economic Policy, The National Urban League
As we gear up for this summer, we ask that you join us in our advocacy efforts to protect CFPB, consumers, and small businesses. We hope you will plan to attend this webinar and will leave empowered and ready to advocate for consumers like yourself. | | | Sincerely, Jaylon Herbin | Jaylon Herbin (pronouns: he/him/his) Director of Federal Campaigns, Student Loan Lead Center for Responsible Lending (CRL) 302 West Main Street, Durham, NC, 27701 [email protected] www.responsiblelending.org Trusted research, analysis and advocacy to create financial fairness and economic opportunity for all Please consider the environment before printing this message or attachments.
