We wanted you to be among the first to hear the good news.
Colorado Republicans are planning to make changes to how our national delegates are selected in advance of the March 5th, 2024, Super Tuesday Presidential Primary Election, and the March 7th, 2023, Colorado Republican Caucuses. (Changes in our bylaws can be viewed below.)
In an effort to attract more attention and focus from presidential campaigns to Colorado, we will offer the following changes:
- Delegates will be bound to presidential candidates for two rounds at the national convention.
- Delegates must pledge their support to a specific presidential candidate. No undeclared delegates will be allowed to run for a delegate slot.
- Delegates selected at the Congressional Assemblies can also be proportionally awarded to presidential candidates depending on the results of the Presidential Primary. Bonus delegate allocations will be factored into the formula we ultimately adopt.
- Presidential campaigns will be allowed to nominate a slate of delegates depending on the results of the Presidential Primary.
These changes will help presidential campaigns to view Colorado's delegates at a premium when deciding how to deploy their campaign resources across the country, and we will do all we can to encourage all the presidential campaigns to compete in Colorado before Super Tuesday.
Colorado Republicans have 37 delegates up for grabs and these merit-based incentives will help Republicans in Colorado have their voices heard.

Dave Williams
