Dear Employer,

The Maine Department of Labor is sharing the below message on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services:

*Changes are coming to MaineCare, Maine?s Medicaid program, and the Maine Department of Health and Human Services hopes to enlist your help to let your employees know.*

For the past few years, Maine and other states were?allowed to temporarily stop Medicaid eligibility reviews to help keep people covered during the pandemic. MaineCare has returned to normal operations and is now resuming these reviews. This means any of your employees (or their family members) who currently have MaineCare could soon lose their health coverage.?

*Here are some things you can do to help your employees and their families:*

* * **Make sure they know the DHHS Office of Family Independence (OFI) will contact them about their MaineCare coverage.?*
* They should make sure their contact information (like address, phone number, and email address) is up to date.
* They can visit?MyMaineConnection.gov [ [link removed] ] or call 1-855-797-4357 to update their information.
* They should check their mail for a letter from OFI. This will be in an envelope with a blue block, or an e-notice. If they get a renewal form, they should complete and submit it right away.

* * **Tell them about any health care options your company offers.*
* Losing MaineCare is a ?Qualifying Life Event,? which means they can enroll in an employer plan outside of Open Enrollment. They should be able to easily enroll in any employer plan your company offers.
* Human resources staff should share information about available health coverage options, including premium amounts and plan benefits.

* * **Encourage them to explore health coverage options on CoverME.gov, Maine?s Health Insurance Marketplace.*
* People losing MaineCare are eligible for a Special Enrollment Period to apply at?CoverME.gov [ [link removed] ] between now and July 2024.
* All plans on CoverME.gov cover doctor visits, prescription drugs, emergency care, and more.
* Many people can find a plan for $10 or less per month with financial help. They can apply at CoverME.gov or by calling 1-866-636-0355.

You can also access resources to educate your employees or other community members about the changes coming to MaineCare at the Department?s communications resources site [ [link removed] ].

Thank you,
