Exciting internal images of the proposed new Central Library at Broadmarsh have been revealed by Nottingham City Council, with the public being offered the chance to offer their views.
The plans and video fly-through for the library reveal the layout and design of the new library, showing?a bright and welcoming space with new areas to network and relax, along with reading, learning and fun spaces for children.

Light Night - Nottingham?s famous night of eclectic and electric light installations - is back!?For the first time ever, Light Night will take place over two evenings on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 February.?
Visitors can expect parades, breath-taking performances, brilliant light sculptures and much more on both nights. Highlights include a gigantic projected installation on Nottingham?s iconic Council House.
As with each Light Night, the event will have an overarching theme, with this year?s theme being Life on Earth.?
As ever we are excited?to be part of the fun with two events:
World-renowned light artist Andy McKeown will be lighting up the ground floor of Central Library with a new light art installation My Favourite Book?on?Friday 7?February 4pm to 9pm. Featuring the titles of favourite books and authors selected by the people of Nottingham you can?browse the book shelves as you?ve never seen them before and get some inspiration for new reads at the same time.
On Friday: find out 'How the Borks Became' - An Adventure in Evolution.?Join author Jonathan Emmett for an entertaining blend of science and storytelling in this family session.?Friday 7 February, 5pm to 6pm. Free but tickets are limited and need booking. Click here for more information.??
On Saturday: pop into Central Library for Light Catchers: a fun up-cycling activity for families. We will be making individual light catchers, exploring themes of the city landscape using redundant items from the library and daylight as our light source. The Festival of Science and Curiosity returns -?taking science out of the lab and into our communities for a whole week from?15 to 22 February.

Sexual reproduction in fungi for strain improvement.??Join University of Nottingham researcher Paul Brett for a fascinating talk on all things fungi!
The Science of Spaceflight.?Join Dr Amelia Fraser-McKelvie as she summarises some of the most interesting science experiments that have taken place in space.
Flood Resilience and blue-green infrastructure.?This talk will explore how Blue-Green infrastructure (e.g. rain gardens, wetlands etc) can help manage flood risk while delivering a range of benefits to the environment and society.

On Time to Talk Day we want everyone to have a conversation about mental health.?Come along for a free hot drink and have a chat with the local library staff about the books & resources in the library that can support you.
