The Poll Results Are In

Thank you for your feedback and comments. We are on the same page!

Thank you to everyone that responded to our poll. What we learned is that the commitments Rural Americans United (RAU) has set are shared with all of us. We will revisit this poll and the actions that come with it over the next months. Our approach was designed so that each program could be independent so that work would not stop if resources were restricted. But working together they are much stronger. RAU is using pilot studies of these different programs to demonstrate success so that we can amplify our funding efforts. Whereas it is disappointing to see such great need, it is reassuring to see a path forward. Most respondence picked Building Media Presence. This works well as we are finishing up a round of media buys to confirm cost and messaging. Pushing back on MAGA rhetoric is critical for democratic success and our data shows that democratic messaging received only during election cycles is increasingly viewed negatively and the absence of democratic messaging at all other times greatly benefits the republican agenda. This may sound contradictory to the data collected measuring the impact of messaging during election cycles where it does have a positive GOTV effect but, when reviewed longitudinally, we see the same amount of effort producing diminishing returns over time. This is clearly shown by consistent low voter turnout and by GenX, Latino and Union workers trending right in Central Washington. To educate, persuade and get voters back we must be heard every single day.

RAU out and about We were invited to meet the board of Washington Conservation Action. We have had a series of conversations around bringing their sizable resources to Central Washington to expand voter engagement especially among Native American voters, yay! March in Sunnyside where the mayor said that LGBT was too "divisive" and therefore the city could not support Pride. When is being human divisive? Yakima Pride in all its glory. A big thank you to their team for helping Tri-Pride 2023 in so many ways. Prosser meeting on affordable housing and how local politics can help shape a better future. All politics is local. We are overjoyed that five persons have been arrested in conjunction with murdered indigenous women. Thank you to all that have never, not for even a moment, let the names of those that have disappeared be forgotten.

It is summer picnic time and I am heading north Grant county is holding their ice cream social on July 14th, Douglas County will be hosting a picnic with WA Dem Chair Shasti Conrad and our OG of AG's, Bob Ferguson on the 15th and Okanogan will be having a picnic on the 16th. Details on how to join are below. Come get a belly full of burgers, watermelon, ice cream and democracy

A very special table On June 22nd Bob Ferguson held a fundraiser for his exploratory campaign. We at Rural Americans United hosted a table to celebrate some of those that give so much to their communities. There would not be a table big enough to hold everyone that fits that bill, but we chose several. However, the best part of the evening was why Cissy Reyes was absent. READ MORE

Hope should never be a prayer that the worst won't happen

We physically, with our sweat, build infrastructure and the Party by providing people, sustainable strategies, organization, office space and technology, investment, media management and skills development. We have listened and learned from hundreds of dedicated democrats, democratic organizations, community organizations, State Party, National Party and others. There is almost no interest in doing the grass roots work of building Democratic infrastructure in rural communities and the small number of passionate volunteers on the front line need help. We are losing to Republican rhetoric and organizing. Believe in your neighbor and invest in your community. We count on your support to grow and build strength in the Party.
