Hi, I'm Christopher. Raised in a staunchly Republican family, I was taught Republican values. However, my perspective shifted when I took AP Government and delved into the Democratic Party and its principles. As a proud gay man, I couldn't align myself with a party actively working against the rights of underserved communities, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Since 2021, I have actively participated in politics - starting with an internship for a District Supervisor candidate during the 2022 race. Currently an incoming Senior at Cal State University Sacramento, I'm pursuing a double major in Political Science and Journalism. After obtaining my BAs, my plan is to attend law school. Passionate about: LGBTQIA+ Rights Reproductive Rights Affordable Housing Fact about me:
I am an avid photographer/videographer. I have visited and camped at every national park in the beautiful state of California. |

Hi, I'm Jillian! I am 18 years old and residing in San Joaquin County. At the age of 15, I began engaging in political campaigns. In the summer of 2020, fueled by the distressing news and social media content highlighting hate and injustice, I sought an after-school activity. Recognizing my passion, my mom and I both volunteered for the Josh Harder for Congress campaign. This experience ignited my love for politics and the potential to create positive change in my community.
I identify as a Democrat because I firmly believe it is the party capable of making a tangible impact on our nation. The Democratic Party aligns with my progressive values, and I take great pride in identifying myself as a Democrat. Passionate about:

When I am not knocking on doors or phone banking, I play college golf and study Political Science! |

Hi, my name is Maryam Idowu. I was born in Abeokuta, Nigeria, and moved to the United States at the age of 4. Currently, I am a college student pursuing a double major in Social Work and Political Science, with minors in Psychology and Child Development.
As a passionate activist, I strongly advocate against the systemic and social oppression faced by people of color on a daily basis. I strive to be a voice for youth, ensuring their inclusion in decision-making processes. My involvement in politics stems from a desire to fight for the rights of immigrants who, like me, face additional challenges and limited opportunities. I aim to empower every immigrant to exercise their right to vote and take pride in making choices that benefit them and their families.
Engaging in politics has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life that allows me to inspire other young individuals to speak up and get involved. I identify as a Democrat because I believe the Democratic Party offers more opportunities for ordinary people. The party advocates for equal rights, healthcare, veterans' support, and the overall safety of all Americans. By embracing inclusivity regardless of race, religion, or background, the Democratic Party creates a safe and welcoming environment.
Passionate about: Immigration Education Racial Equity Fact about me:
I organized and led a Black Lives Matter protest in a span of three days in Madera on the day of my graduation. |

I am from Wasco, California, which is where I currently reside and raise my family. My parents, hardworking farmworkers, did their best to support us, their four children, on a modest income. Thanks to the leadership of Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, they were able to access healthcare and retire with a union pension.
Growing up, I absorbed the values of hard work, activism, and empowerment from my parents. These principles guided me as I embarked on a career in corporate America and climbed the corporate ladder. |

However, I soon realized that this path didn't align with my personal values. The election of Trump pushed me further into activism as I felt compelled to take more substantial action. Today, I am a proud mother to a wonderful toddler and I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my second child in September.
I perceive the Democratic Party as the People's Party - advocating for democracy, justice, and equality. As the current President of The Democratic Women of Kern, I wholeheartedly devote myself to strengthening the Democratic presence here in California. Through phone banking, canvassing, and community engagement, we focus not only on registering voters but also on inspiring and motivating them to become active participants in their community. In the wise words of Eleanor Roosevelt, 'The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dream.' I firmly hold onto this belief as I navigate my own journey.
