John, I sent a couple of . . . colorful tweets last month, so I wanted to take a moment to explain myself.

John Bisognano (Jun 27, 2023, via Twitter): “HOLY SHIT”

I hope you’ll excuse my language – I was just REALLY excited when I saw the news that our grassroots movement won huge victories at the Supreme Court in Allen v. Milligan and Moore v. Harper.

These decisions will have major consequences in the fight for fair maps. But before I go into more detail, I have to ask: Will you help the NDR PAC take advantage of this momentum by making a quick donation to support our democracy-saving work?

In Moore, the Court issued a resounding rejection of the fringe “independent state legislature” theory, upholding our system of checks and balances and ensuring state courts will continue to play an important role in protecting free and fair elections.

And in Milligan, the Court struck down Alabama’s congressional maps for illegally diluting the power of Black votes. As a result, Alabama will have to draw new maps with an additional majority-Black district before the next election.

Attorney General Eric Holder called the decision “a victory for all Americans,” and said it would “have an impact far beyond the borders of Alabama.” He’s absolutely right on both counts.

Already, another Supreme Court decision has cleared the way for Louisiana to draw new maps adding an additional majority-minority district before 2024. And pending challenges could lead to maps being redrawn in states like Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas.

John, thanks to supporters like you, the fair maps movement helped secure the fairest congressional maps in a generation ahead of the last election. Now, fair maps advocates have an incredible opportunity to ensure the maps are even fairer in the next election. WIll you donate now to support the NDR PAC’s efforts to help elect fair maps leaders nationwide?

Our work at the NDR PAC wouldn’t be possible without you, John, so I hope you’ll pitch in.
