I’m delighted to announce that Former State Senator Hans Zeiger has endorsed my campaign to work for the people in Congress!

Hans served in the WA House of Representatives from 2011 to 2017, the state senate from 2017 to 2021, and the Pierce County Council until summer 2022, when he resigned his office to lead a non-profit organization, the Jack Miller Center, to advance American history and civics education efforts nationwide. 

Hans shared the following statement:

"I am proud to endorse Carmen Goers for the 8th Congressional District. I have gotten to know Carmen over the last few years and have seen her dedication to the community. Carmen is committed to helping our foster youth and making sure that we are protecting and uplifting this vulnerable population. She is also committed to making sure that the Government is spending within its means and not overburdening the taxpayers. I look forward to seeing Carmen serve as the next congresswoman from Washington's 8th District."

I also applaud Hans' leadership with the Jack Miller Center, whose efforts are at the forefront in ensuring that the teaching of civics has a strong presence across the nation in our K-12 schools.  

I’m grateful for Hans’ recognition of my dedication as an advocate for our foster youth. I will humbly endeavor to serve as a Congresswoman with the same spirit of statesmanship while working tirelessly to inspire the next generation to reach for the torch we must pass forward in upholding a government of, for and by the people!
