Dear JOHN,
America’s gravy train is still full steam ahead when it comes to the war in Ukraine.
Last week, there were signs that Putin may be on his heels, which prompted people to ask whether I’m still leery of all the aid we’re providing. The answer is a resounding yes, especially now that he’s back to his old tricks.
Don’t get me wrong, I'm a supporter of these folks fighting for their freedom and independence, especially in the face of someone like Putin. But what's hard for me to get behind is the overflowing billions of unchecked dollars we're pouring into this whole shebang.
We've given the green light to a whopping $113 billion across four rounds of aid since Russia's invasion. This massive money pit has me deeply concerned about our country and where our priorities lie.
That’s why I am demanding accountability from our government. Congress has a duty to keep the Defense Department in check by ordering improved tracking of this aid. It's the absolute minimum we can do when we're funneling taxpayer dollars into this conflict.
When all is said and done, I still stand firm by my original concerns, JOHN. Yes, Putin might be a no-good scoundrel, but the fact of the matter is there are conflicts sprouting up all over the world that we aren’t sticking our noses into, and the war in Ukraine should be on that list.
If you agree with me on this issue, will you chip in $25 to show your support? I’ll continue to voice my concerns, but I need you in my corner.
This is Europe’s war, and we ought to let them fight it.
Sincerely,
Tim Burchett
