** Can I Get a Witness?
------------------------------------------------------------

Every month, we share radical guided meditation practices with our Patreon members giving $5 or more. We just dropped January's ([link removed]) , so today is a great day to join! 🙂

Two senators from South Dakota will cast votes against witnesses and documents. They each represent 429,234 voters. My two senators from California represent 19,625,0000 voters.

The possibility of an acquittal of an impeached felon, abuser and tyrant by a GOP minority of voters should make us all very, very angry. Anger is valid. Anger is needed. Anger is love. And when anger is organized and channeled, it can be a powerful force for change.

Ruby Sales reminds us that "we have to begin to have a conversation that incorporates a vision of love with a vision of outrage."

Love is action. It is how we show up for one another and fight for justice. It is calling our senators and demanding a fair trial: 202-224-3121. It is solidarity for families who have been torn apart over the last few years. It is joyful resistance against a system that wants to dominate us. And it is relentless perseverance to keep going until we have won.

This year is going to test our endurance. We must take care of ourselves and look out for each other along the way. And we must not give up.

THE TRIAL
Former National Security Advisor John Bolton has an upcoming book that's the smoking gun we've been waiting for, confirming that the president, despite his denials, conditioned security aid to a war-torn ally on its cooperation against his political rivals - the issue at the heart of the ongoing impeachment trial. The question is, will this be a Watergate-style turning point, or just one more disclosure that his critics consider validation without changing other minds ([link removed]) (remember Access Hollywood)? Trump's defense claims that Trump suspended $391 million in security aid to Ukraine to tackle corruption and force more European support for the former Soviet republic, not to leverage foreign help incriminating his Democratic rivals. House Democrats (and possible witnesses if we ever get to hear them FGS) argue that, in fact, there was a clear quid pro quo
which constitutes abuse of power. Regardless of the debate, the people deserve a fair trial inclusive of witnesses and key documents (call your senators ([link removed]) at 202-224-3121). But don't let all this drama turn you off: here's the argument for still caring about impeachment. ([link removed])

NO MUSLIM BAN EVER
Monday marked the third anniversary ([link removed]) of President Donald Trump's efforts to impose what he promised would be a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the US." This ban is the calling card of the Trump administration that demonstrates both their authoritarian agenda AND their blatant racism against Black and brown people. The Muslim ban is not just morally offensive, it is personal for many. Here's how one Muslim mother explains the ban to her daughter ([link removed]) . Meanwhile, Trump announced in Davos this week that he's planning to expand the ban to Nigeria and six other majority non-white countries ([link removed]) . Speaker Pelosi responded to the threats saying that the House will vote on the Muslim ban
([link removed]) , aiming to rescind it with the No Ban Act ([link removed]) .

HERE WE GO 2020
Be prepared for anything in Iowa ([link removed]) . With the first caucus just 4 days away, all eyes are in Iowa to see who is going to pull out the first contest of the 2020 election season. Why does it matter? Historically, winning Iowa has boosted momentum toward the nomination (e.g. Obama was not leading before he won Iowa against Hillary in 2008). Here's how the Iowa caucuses work. ([link removed]) Out-of-staters, you don't have to sit on the sidelines and wait. Contact your favorite candidate's campaign to see how you can support from out of state. But winners won't have time to celebrate; New Hampshire is on Iowa's heels on February 11th. Mark your calendars ([link removed]) , the 2020 election is on. And it's going to be quite a journey.
