John, Megyn Kelly
just went after Cori Bush for speaking truth to power about the 4th of
July:

[ [link removed] ]Cori Bush is under attack and we need your help to fight back. Please
rush a split contribution right now.

As the first Black woman to represent Missouri in Congress, Cori has a
deep understanding of America’s historical relationship to independence
and equity. She understands the long term, generational impact felt by
families of the formerly enslaved that continues today.

That’s why she used July 4th to highlight her call for reparations with
the facts of our nation’s founding.

She was immediately attacked by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the National
Republican Senatorial Committee, and former Fox News host and right-wing
media personality Megyn Kelly.

[ [link removed] ]Cori needs the resources to push back in the face of GOP hate. Please
split a $3 contribution between Cori Bush and Justice
Democrats right now to help them fight back against these ring-wing
attacks.

Throughout our country’s history, the federal government has enslaved and
exploited people of African descent. This anti-Black racism is built into
our country’s institutions, including our criminal legal system, housing,
education, and healthcare.

In Cori’s home state of Missouri, Black people are almost 5 times more
likely to be killed by police compared to white people. In the U.S., Black
people die at 3 times the rate of white people during childbirth.

Across the country, Black people are also 3.6 times more likely to be
arrested for cannabis possession than white people, despite using it at
similar rates. Arrests and convictions have lifelong impacts that deny
people of their basic rights, including voting rights and opportunities
for housing and employment.

This is all part of the legacy of chattel slavery and its evolutions, such
as Jim Crow, segregation, and redlining.

While Republicans make disgusting remarks to rile up their bigoted base,
Cori is showing real leadership, addressing anti-Black injustices
including introducing the Reparations Now Resolution, which recognizes the
federal government’s responsibility to provide reparations for the
enslavement of Africans -- and for the harm our government continues to
inflict on millions of Black people.

[ [link removed] ]Cori is a bold leader for justice and she will not back down to
right-wing hate. Split a contribution today to show Cori you have her back
in the face of Republican attacks.
