Juan Ciscomani was on the front page of the Arizona Republic, but not for reasons that will make him or his campaign happy.
Ciscomani has done everything he could to dodge questions about abortion while on the campaign trail, including deleting his own tweets. Last year, he literally ran away from voters when asked about it.
But here's the kicker: even though he wants to avoid talking about abortion, he's already taken multiple votes to attack reproductive rights across the country — including to limit access to mifepristone, one of the most common abortion pills. |
Ciscomani can try to avoid this issue, but that's not an option for the millions of women living in states with new abortion restrictions since Roe was overturned, including here in Arizona.
Polling has shown that Arizonans are overwhelmingly pro-choice. Kirsten Engel will be our champion in Congress — fighting to protect and expand our fundamental rights, not restrict them. But to win this seat, we need to keep getting Kirsten's message out.
Last year, we were outspent 6:1. But even up against that spending, we only lost by one percentage point.
We have a major opportunity to flip this seat next November. Our campaign is already getting support from outside Democratic organizations, but a strong grassroots network will be just as important.
Whatever you can donate now will make a difference. These early months of the campaign are crucial, and we need to capitalize off the momentum of this article. Will you chip in here? |
Thank you so much! — Team Engel |
