I was born in Iran to a Jewish family. My family faced religious persecution, so at age 13, my parents put me on a plane, not knowing when -- or if -- they’d see me again. I landed in New York and found a place where women had real rights and could determine their futures.
I graduated from college and law school and met my husband, Darren. I ran for Town Council and won. And when our state legalized gay marriage, and the town clerk refused to perform the ceremonies, I proudly stepped in to perform them.
Next, I ran for New York State Senate, unseated a well-funded Republican, flipped the seat, and flipped the chamber to give Democrats control for the first time in decades. In the Senate, I sponsored and passed bills codifying Roe v. Wade and banning untraceable ghost guns.
Now, I’m running for Congress to provide real representation to the people of New York because the truth is, Santos’ lies aren’t even the worst thing about him.
Santos is a Trump-supporting, election-denying, anti-choice, and pro-assault rifle disgrace to our district. He doesn’t represent our values, and I’m committed to defeating him next November.
But that’s only going to happen with your support. So today, I’m asking: Will you split $25 between Southern Progress and my campaign to help me defeat George Santos?
