A clip of me grilling a wealthy, out-of-touch EPA official about the agency’s new vehicle emissions standards recently went viral.

My question was polite and simple: What has the EPA done to account for the impact this radical Green New Deal style policy will have on ordinary citizens?



Over the next few years, these emissions standards are going to hurt a lot of people who can’t afford to buy a new “green” car that will comply with the EPA’s mandates.



This is a perfect example of how Washington rigs the system against ordinary Americans.



Establishment politicians give elitist liberal bureaucrats – like this official, who makes $175k a year and has no experience in the real world outside of the Harvard-Washington bubble – the power to make decisions that directly affect millions of Americans.



These elites then push a radical agenda that benefits the well-connected while ignoring the interests and the voice of WE THE PEOPLE – the ones who are forced to shoulder the costs.

The priorities in Washington are completely broken.



At this point, I believe most politicians in this town don’t even care about the impact their agenda will have on millions of Americans who are struggling just to get by.



Whether it’s these radical environmental mandates, more money and weapons for Ukraine, or funding for liberal pet projects for wealthy communities that need it the least, the average American is their LAST priority.



I’ll never succumb to that mentality, John. I can promise you that.



I was elected to Congress to fight on your behalf and look out for your interests. Not to rubber stamp the swamp’s America Last agenda.



That’s why I REFUSE to stand by while they impose these destructive “green” policies on us all.
