America First Legal Sues DOJ, State, and DHS For Withholding Hunter Biden Documents
WASHINGTON, D.C. – America First Legal (AFL) has sued the Biden Departments of Justice, State, and Homeland Security for unlawfully refusing to produce records regarding Hunter Biden.
On March 25, 2022, AFL filed Freedom of Information Act requests with each agency for Hunter Biden records generated between February 21, 2022, and the present. These requests followed public admissions that Hunter Biden’s laptop was genuine, and that the claims to the contrary in 2020 were false. To date, however, not a single record has been produced.
- On May 18, 2023, the Department of Justice stated that a search of 8,000 potentially responsive records was “still ongoing.”
- On May 26, 2023, the Department of State responded to AFL’s offer to narrow its request in order to speed up the production process. The government’s sole response was an automated message stating that the FOIA request remained “in process.”
- In April 2022, the Department of Homeland Security advised AFL that it had started a file transfer of responsive records. As recently as May 18, 2023, AFL requested an update. However, we have not received a response.
The Democrat-Media-Deep State conspiracy to hide the Biden family’s quid pro quo corruption, to spread the lie that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian “disinformation”, and to prevent a free and fair 2020 Presidential election is one of the most sordid chapters in our nation’s political history.
