Kim Reynolds and Iowa Republicans are calling legislators back to Des Moines for the sole purpose of banning abortion in Iowa. Following the Iowa Supreme Court decision weeks ago, Republican politicians are chomping at the bit to implement the most extreme abortion ban they can write.
For now, abortion remains safe and legal in Iowa. But it’s hanging by a thread and politicians in power are working hard to take away our rights, health care, and power over our bodies and futures.
This past legislative session, Iowa Senate Democrats attempted to pass legislation for paid family leave, expand access to childcare, and make healthcare more affordable. But Republicans completely ignored it.
This just shows how out of touch Republicans politicians are with the needs of everyday Iowans.
