COMPLICIT Petition:
Here's How YOU Can Help!
Dear SPUC supporter

The promotion of SPUC's new COMPLICIT campaign is really gathering momentum. Before I tell you how YOU can help to promote it, I'd first like to update you on what the campaign is all about.

As you may already know, China pursues coercive abortion and sterilisation policies, especially against the Uyghur minority.

* The CCP’s one-child policy entailed forced abortion and sterilisation. State interference in family life continues today under the three-child policy.
* Leading data firm Statista estimates that this policy resulted in 30 to 40 million “missing women” in China.
* Independent Commission for Aid Impact Chief Commissioner said that over ÂŁ60 million was sent to China in 2020-21.

According to a recent independent poll, 60% think that the UK should cut funding to countries (like China) where there are concerns about abortion coercion.

* There is clearly strong opposition to sending taxpayers’ money to the second largest economy in the world.

This is why SPUC is calling for the Prime Minister to STOP his government’s funding of China’s regime immediately.

And your help is vital for the success of this call.
Since the Parliamentary launch in May, this campaign has caused a great stir amongst politicians.

It has attracted cross-party support from MPs and Peers, who back SPUC’s call for the suspension of UK aid to China.
According to one leading newspaper, SPUC’s campaign provoked a “row” within the Conservative party.
Following his attendance at the launch, Mr Jacob Rees-Mogg MP invited Alithea Williams, SPUC's Public Policy Manager, to join him on his GB News show to discuss the report and its findings.
SPUC colleagues have also demonstrated outside the Chinese Embassy to raise awareness of this issue.
Fr Lawrence Lew OP, Promoter General of the Rosary and Prior and Rector of London’s Rosary Shrine, is encouraging everyone to sign this petition. He writes:

‘SPUC does a service for the truth in highlighting a terrible campaign of State-enforced abortions that violates the rights of women, families, and most importantly the unborn child’s fundamental human right to life.

‘As British citizens we do not want our own UK Government to fund or aid such crimes against humanity.

‘As such I support the campaign of SPUC in raising awareness of this issue.’
Only SPUC is able to mount campaigns and legal challenges that confront the Government with FACTS like these.

And this is where you come in, as it's only through your participation in such a broad and loyal supporter base that we can mount these campaigns.

A major part of the campaign is our petition (link below) which calls on the Government to stop funding China's genocidal regime.

And so we ask that you first sign the petition yourself, and then share it with the people in your life.

You can do this by sending them the information by:

* Email ('forward' link toward bottom of this email), via:
* Facebook
* Twitter
* Any other socials you may be on
* Messaging services like WhatsApp

Or simply by word of mouth!

It is vital that we gather as many signatures as possible, to show the strength of UK resistance to taxpayer funding of countries with coercive abortion policies.

Thank you for helping get this message out to people.

With very warm regards,
John Deighan
Chief Executive
