John — I'm an analyst on the finance team. I have a hard update to give: grassroots donations are down significantly this year.
Any single donation on its own may not seem like a big deal. But every day, I see your contribution combining with thousands of others to become the bedrock for our work transforming the lives of nannies, housecleaners, and care workers.
That's why I'm reaching out to you today. To get back on track we've set a goal to raise $10,000 by 11:59 pm on July 31.
John — Can you rush a donation to help us achieve this goal and get back on track? Your contribution — of any amount — would mean a lot right now. [[link removed]]

Closing this budget gap is so important because we've got real challenges and opportunities right now.
Here's just a few of the priorities from our 2023 Strategic Plan:
1) Build support for our National Domestic Workers Bill of Rights – federal legislation that ensures domestic workers are included in common workplace laws while creating new protections and stronger ways to enforce them.
2) Ensure the ~$25 billion in Home and Community Based Services funding passed in the American Rescue Plan Act translates into permanent wage increases for care workers.
3) Pass our New Jersey Bill of Rights, which would include basic legal rights for New Jersey's domestic workers, many of whom are experiencing wage theft, denial of breaks, and lack of sick leave, as well as continue the push for other municipal and state Bills of Rights.
It's not easy to transform domestic work — it takes a lot of person-hours and resources. The systems designed to keep domestic workers in the shadows can feel insurmountable at times.
But it's because of supporters like you, who step up time and again , that we've been able to achieve monumental wins for domestic workers in the face of these huge obstacles.
We know financial contributions aren't the only measure of your support, and we're grateful for all the ways the people reading this email pitch in. But if you’re able, we really need your help to hit this important $10,000 fundraising goal before 11:59 pm on July 31. [[link removed]]

Thank you for all you do,
