Liquid error: Internal error
Dear
John,
I'm reaching out to you today to discuss a matter that is gravely
important for the future of our free speech and democratic discourse
in this country.
You may not have heard of it due to the way certain news is being
suppressed, but a federal judge in Louisiana recently ruled that the
Biden administration likely violated the First Amendment by censoring
unfavorable views on social media. This is part of a long-standing
lawsuit spearheaded by Republican-led states. I am personally troubled
by these events and hope you are too.
The judge's decision highlighted a range of topics, all suppressed
on social media, following the urging of administration officials.
Shockingly, all the “suppressed” topics were conservative viewpoints.
The judge declared this as a "targeted suppression of conservative
ideas", a viewpoint discrimination of political speech.
As American citizens, we have the right to engage in free debate
about significant issues affecting our country. But the evidence so
far paints a dystopian scenario of an Orwellian 'Ministry of Truth'
attempting to control the narrative.
John,
this is an affront to our democracy and to our freedom of
speech.
We can't sit back and let this happen. If we want our voices to be
heard, if we want a free and fair platform for all views and not just
those in power, we need to act and act now.
Please
join me and many others in demanding an end to this shadow ban
today!
The fight for our democracy is not just about those in power but
about all of us, about what we stand for and what we believe in.
Together, we can make a difference. We can ensure our democracy
remains a place for free thought and open debate.
Thank you for your support and for standing with us in this
important political
battle.
With gratitude and determination,
Elise
