John,

We only have two days left to hit our January goal!

I’m going to ask you to contribute to this campaign, but first, let me tell you why it’s so critical.

The race in 2018 was not easy. In fact, many national pundits didn’t think we could win. The district had elected Donald Trump by nearly seven points in 2016. But I became the first Democrat since 1968 to win the district – and the first woman ever.

While Democrats have had control of the House, we’ve made enormous progress. We’ve passed legislation to reduce gun violence, to help veterans, to expand our trade opportunities and strengthen family farms, to clean up corruption in Washington, to control the cost of prescription drugs, and more. But we’re just getting started.

Third Way issued a report in which they said that this district was among the eight most important in the country in 2020. The winner here in VA-07 may determine whether Democrats maintain control of the House. National Republican groups have already spent nearly a million dollars attacking my campaign and distorting my record. And these same groups have broken their fundraising records this past year.

There is so much on the line, John, and we need to have the resources necessary to run a campaign to win. Can you please consider a contribution to help fund my reelection campaign?

Thank you,
- Abigail
