I hope you had a happy and safe 4th of July with friends and loved ones.

I wanted to send a note simply to say thank you.

After an incredible outpouring of grassroots donations, my campaign closed the books last week on our second quarter FEC deadline. I am grateful for everything this team did last quarter to contribute to our success.

I am proud to say that together we beat my goal for the quarter. Admittedly, it was a close call, and my staff was worried that we might not make it. But I had faith in you all because I’ve seen what our movement is capable of doing before.

You should be proud of what we’re building here. This is a true grassroots movement. We’re raising the resources that we need to win — not just my reelection but to win real progressive change in Washington. We’re continuing to invest in our communication and organizing efforts, and we’re doing all of it without a dime of PAC or corporate money.

The work ahead won’t be easy. The fights worth having never are. But when we come together to build power, none of the special interests in Washington are a match for us. Not the gun lobby. Not Big Pharma. Not the oil and gas industry.

My time in the Senate has proven to me that, if we organize and harness our collective power, the will of the American people cannot be ignored.

So I’m going to keep fighting. I know it can be hard at times — especially watching some of the damaging decisions that the Supreme Court handed down at the end of June. But I’m optimistic - I always am. If we do the work now to hold this seat and grow our movement’s power, we can and will prevail.
