Hi there —
I wanted to reach out to talk about last week. First, I want to thank you – with your help, we hit our end-of-quarter fundraising goal, and I’m confident our upcoming report will show everyone watching that momentum is on our side.
This past week also saw incredibly troubling decisions come out of the ultra-conservative Supreme Court. I stand with the marginalized communities affected by these rulings, and to prevent further erosion of hard-earned victories, we must win important elections both in 2023 and 2024 (for example, this year’s open seat for PA Supreme Court).
Despite these rulings, my team and I found a bright spot by marching in the Glenside 4th of July parade yesterday. It’s one of the nation’s oldest consecutively run parades (1904 was its first year!) – and it’s the same parade I enjoyed as a little girl growing up in Glenside! To get to march representing the communities I’ve called home my entire life is a great honor.
Each year we hand out at least 100 pounds of candy to children along the parade — but this year was a little different (140 pounds!). I do my best to make sure each child gets candy, and that often means zig-zagging the route, taking longer than it should to walk 1.5 miles!
The Glenside parade is just one of the many events I plan to hit while on the campaign trail this year and next. Be sure to stay up-to-date with Team Dean and me by following my campaign on Twitter.
I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July, and thank you again for helping us close the quarter with strength.
With gratitude,
– Madeleine
