President Donald Trump lashed out at Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings and the city of Baltimore over the weekend and this week on Twitter, in another instance of the president attacking a lawmaker of color. Trump recently tweeted that four freshman congresswomen of color should go back to their “broken and crime infested” countries, though they are all American citizens.

Meanwhile, many of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates debated for two nights in Detroit this week, highlighting some deep divisions between the moderates and progressives on issues like health care and how to beat Trump next year.
