CCLers - What is the future of DC's energy grid--will we continue to rely on fossil fuels or make the switch to an electric grid that enables a transition to renewable energy? We will debate this topic as Washington Gas proposes a $672M upgrade to the city's gas infrastructure that would lock us into fossil fuels for decades to come.

Resolved: The D.C. Public Service Commission should reject Washington Gas' Project Pipes in favor of transitioning to an all-electric grid instead.

In this debate hosted by the depolarization non-profit Braver Angels, we will be in the room with the right-of-center American Conservation Coalition DMV Chapter. The purpose is to lay out the different sides of the topic, seek understanding, and, if we are still alive at the end, maybe even find common ground!
