Dear John,
We are pleased to announce Lindsey Scholten as OLCV’s Executive Director. She has been serving in the role as interim since April. With increasing threats to Oregon’s environment, the work of OLCV has never been more important, and we are thrilled to have Lindsey leading the organization forward at this critical time.
Lindsey has helped lead OLCV’s biggest political successes for almost a decade and brings a wealth of experience to her role leading the organization forward. During her tenure as OLCV’s deputy director, and prior to that as political director, she led OLCV’s political work to many significant victories, culminating in the largest-ever political program in 2022. With over $1.8 million invested, OLCV helped elect Governor Tina Kotek and protected the pro-environment majority in the Oregon Senate. When she served as the political director and oversaw the political program, OLCV also helped re-elect Governor Kate Brown, flipped the state senate to have a pro-environment and pro-climate majority in 2014, protected pro-environment majorities in the state senate and house, and elected several key climate and environmental champions.
I have known Lindsey for over ten years, and I am certain that we’ve found a passionate, innovative, and experienced leader in her. Her sharp political strategy, effective leadership, and vision will build upon past victories to reach even greater wins to protect our clean air and water, the health of our communities, the stability of our climate, and the state of our democracy.
“I am truly honored to be given this opportunity to lead OLCV forward into our next chapter. OLCV’s mission – electing pro-environment and pro-climate candidates to office, educating voters on where candidates stand, and holding all our elected officials accountable for how they vote – is unique and incredibly important," said Lindsey. "With recent changes of leadership in the governor’s mansion and the state legislature, along with climate impacts hitting home the urgent need for more action, we have both great opportunity and responsibility to ensure a safe and stable climate for today and for future generations.”
Please join me and the Board in welcoming Lindsey as Executive Director of OLCV. We are so grateful to have you by our side and thank you for your continued support and partnership as we begin this new chapter.
Sincerely,
Jules Bailey
Chair, OLCV Board of Directors
