Last Friday I watched the Center Point Pirates play basketball. Everyone who was in that gym saw a display of never give up, play to the end, fighting spirit. The Lady Pirates, did not score well into the game. This group of young ladies played their game, running plays and taking shots at the basket when the opportunity was there. They never let the other team’s ability to score what felt like every trip down the court, to rattle them because they believed in themselves. That game can teach all of us many lessons. The first is to never give up no matter what the score is. The second is team work is essential. The last is to finish what you start. I am fighting to be the voice that all of TX21 deserves, a voice that has deep ties to the district. That loves this district and will never give up fighting for the best for it; being it healthcare, education, infrastructure, climate change and much more. That we must work not only with our democratic colleagues but across the aisle with the republicans. By putting our nation first we can accomplish many things. We must finish what we start. There is no walking away when working across the aisle or with others. People are depending on us to find solutions. Just a night in the Texas Hill Country that taught us all so much. |
