Dear John,
A new study published by the Fraser Institute today finds that if the Ford government had held to Wynne-era spending levels, there would have been $9.5 billion available this year for tax relief and balancing the provincial budget.
Unfortunately, the Ford government has actually increased spending above that of the previous Wynne government, despite campaigning against such spending before taking office.
How much tax relief could Ontarians have seen?
Personal income taxes could have been reduced by $888 per tax filer this year.
Or, the HST could have be reduced by 2% – while also eliminating the province’s projected $1.3 billion deficit this year.
Check out the full study here, and please help us spread the news!
Sincerely,
Niels Veldhuis
President
