14:00-15:00 UTC AFRICA — The Peace Wave in Africa
campaign is a one-hour Zoom event that will bring together a diverse
group of speakers to discuss the importance of peace and security in
Africa. The event will be divided into two parts: Part 1: Fostering
Peace in Africa In this part, speakers will discuss the challenges to
peace and security in Africa, as well as the strategies that can be used
to foster peace. Speakers will be given 2 minutes each to talk about
their topic. Part 2: Making Peace In this part, speakers will share
ideas on how to make peace and engage with listeners. Speakers will be
given 3 minutes each to talk about their topic.

blood!” — 11 a.m. until late afternoon on the south side of Union
Square, New York City. Occupy the south side of Union Square starting
with a Vigil for Yemen. View the daylong global broadcast at 24HourPeaceWave.org.
Speak to and link the issues of supremacy, equity, militarism, and
sustainability. Please bring signs, banners, flags, props, musical
instruments, costumes, leaflets, newspapers, chalk & art supplies to
make murals, music, theater – come for conversation, song & dance!
We will participate in a blood drive with the New York Blood Center.
Please come prepared to donate blood!
1:30-2:00 pm EDT MONTRÉAL — Peace Picnic in the Park featuring a presentation of Beehive Collective Banners. We will meet at the pond in Parc Lafontaine where the banner is to be displayed; this is the first thing you see when you walk towards the park from rue Cherrier. Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket to sit on.
Itinerary: Picnic from 12:30 to 1:30, and then Beehive presentation from 1:30-2:00 pm EDT.

Asheville, as part of the War Industrialists Resistance Network.

A recorded documentary of the Quakers Aotearoa New Zealand: Peace
Testimony. It began with a mihi by Niwa Short, followed by 12 Quakers
poignantly reading our updated Peace Testimony and concluding with the
waiata ‘Te Aroha. This evolving event was a special reminder of the
peace work Friends have taken part in over the decades and a timely
reminder of the importance of our peace advocacy, which is as important
as ever as our country’s military spending climbs ever upwards.
Part 08 (03:00 to 05:00 UTC): Japan and South Korea
12:00PM – 1:00PM JST JAPAN (Tokyo) — The Gensuikyo
and the Japan Peace Committee organized street action at Ginza, downtown
Tokyo, and issued an appeal to mobilize participants to oppose Kishida
joining NATO. The groups are opposing the Kishida government’s refusal
to join the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), the
massive military buildup, the strengthening of military blocs, and an
increase in military spending. It will be a live protest on the street
that will have speakers, a signature campaign, and banners and placards.
1:00PM – 1:20 PM SOUTH KOREA — A lecture video regarding the current situation in Northeast Asia.
1:20 PM – 1:30 PM SOUTH KOREA — A video from the Gangjeong
peace movement related to the ongoing nonviolent struggle to stop the
Jeju naval base construction project currently being forced upon
Gangjeong Village, a tiny town located on the southern tip of Jeju, the
Peace Island, in Korea.
