Today, as I was marching in the Fourth of July parade, I was reflecting on our country – and our democracy.

Hello,

Today, during our Fourth of July parade, I was reflecting on our country – and our democracy.

It’s a miracle that America ever came to be. A democratic republic, where power is peacefully given up and transferred, where the rule of law matters, where the truth matters, and where every person is given equal opportunity to thrive and succeed. That is the promise of America.

There are some in Washington – like my opponent Lauren Boebert – who still try to divide us, though. Who try to put us in corners separated by “red” and “blue.” Who are more interested in ego and personal gain than protecting our democracy. And who are too distracted with headlines and fueling an angertainment industry to put in the work or do what’s right.

The last few years have shown us all that democracy can be a fragile thing. But while we face many threats as a nation, I still believe that America’s promise, her leadership, and the vision that our Founding Fathers had will always overcome – as long as there are those willing to defend them.

And after I defeat Lauren Boebert and am sworn in as the next congressman from Colorado’s third congressional district, I promise to always uphold my sacred oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies – both foreign and domestic.

In forming a more perfect union, America’s best days will always be ahead of us.

Happy Fourth of July!

With gratitude -
Adam
