Congress might be in recess, but that doesn’t mean our work stops. Just yesterday, I was at the border with my colleagues to see the conditions for migrants firsthand. The administration is forcibly returning migrants to Mexico even when they are petitioning for asylum.

Seeking asylum is a human right — but the Trump administration has done everything in their power to undermine that, leaving too many people fleeing violence and conflict out in the cold. We are not even providing aid to Juárez to help shelter these migrants.

That must change. No person loses their humanity simply because they cross the border. Will you sign my petition to end Trump’s new asylum policies?
