We have devastating news: An innocent grizzly bear’s mangled and lifeless body was recently found shot to death just miles from Yellowstone National Park.

Grizzly bears are protected in the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. But it’s clear that they still aren’t safe from vicious hunters that kill for sport. These very same hunters are working to delist grizzlies so they can murder them in droves. And the fact of the matter is that we’re running out of time to protect these vulnerable bears. Grizzlies and our planet need your help urgently, Friend. Donate $27 to Friends of the Earth today to help us reach our $4,800 goal by midnight TONIGHT!

A single bullet will do more than kill one helpless bear. That bullet can leave her orphaned cubs struggling, starving, and unable to fight off predators. That bullet is enough to decimate an entire bear family

We don’t want to see any more of these preventable deaths. But trophy hunters and Big Industry are pushing harder than ever to remove life-saving protections for grizzly bears. If they succeed, they could have free rein to kill bears and take over the lands they roam. They would even be able to open those lands up for mining, logging, and drilling.

But all hope isn’t lost yet, Friend. Thanks to generous members like you, we can still turn the tide before precious grizzlies and their habitats are lost forever. But time is running out, so bears need your help urgently if they’re going to stand a chance!

Don’t let another grizzly die for the sake of corporate greed. Protect bears and our planet, and donate $27 to Friends of the Earth now to help us reach our $4,800 goal.

As you read this, states in the northern Rockies are working to remove Endangered Species Act protections for threatened grizzly bears.
Stripping grizzlies of their ESA protections would be devastating -- just last year, Idaho Fish and Game found a female grizzly with 12 BULLETS in her. She was shot an estimated 40 TIMES. This is the level of ferocity grizzly bears are facing without strengthened ESA protections.

Because for trophy hunters, the simple act of killing isn’t enough. Black bears are already facing the horrors that could await grizzlies if private interests succeed. Trophy hunters wait until bears leave the safety of their dens to trap them with painful metal clamps or release hunting dogs to track and terrorize bears before they are murdered. No animal deserves this brutal fate.

If we don’t act soon, we could see history repeat itself. At their peak, grizzlies in the continental U.S. numbered 50,000! But by 1975, reckless human activity, like hunting, trapping, and habitat loss, decimated their numbers. This prompted their Endangered Species Act protection.

Flash forward to 2023. Shrinking habitats. Loss of critical food sources. Serious impacts of climate change. The facts speak for themselves: Even with protections, grizzly bears are struggling to survive. And we’re seeing the impacts. In the lower 48 states, grizzlies are down to just 2% of their historic population. And now, excessive hunting could be added to the mix with extinction-level consequences. The time to act is NOW, Friend, while there are still grizzlies left to save!

Trophy hunters are one step away from killing mama bears. Protect grizzlies, their babies, and our planet, and rush your $27 donation today.

Grizzly bears are an iconic part of the North American wilderness. Believe it or not, these intelligent animals play a big role in keeping their ecosystems healthy! As a top predator, they keep prey populations in check. What’s more, grizzlies roam far and wide, enriching soils and transporting vital nutrients as they go. But it doesn’t end there -- scientists are continuously discovering more and more ways grizzlies play an important part in their ecosystems.

I need you in this fight if bears are going to stand a chance. Your membership support to Friends of the Earth today will allow us to take a stand against private interests who want to hunt down vulnerable species like bears, wreak havoc on their environments, and are contributing to ecological destruction on our planet.

The inhumane treatment of bears and their cubs cannot continue. One bullet will not only kill mother bears, but the slaughter means that her cubs will be left to die as well.

There is no time to lose. Iconic species like grizzlies are being targeted and need your help. Join the fight for our planet and precious bears before they are hunted to extinction, and make your $27 contribution today!

Bear cubs may soon be left to starve or freeze to death. Protect them and our planet, and donate $27 today to help us reach our urgent $4,800 goal.
