Happy Fourth of July, John!
From the parade in Sault Ste. Marie to the Boat Parade in Benzie – I hope your day is filled with friends, family, and fireworks!
This Fourth of July, let’s take time to reflect on the values that inspired this nation’s founding: that all of us are created equal and that the power of a democratic government should rest with We the People, not We the Politicians.
Representative government works best when our leaders understand and reflect the values of their communities – and the more divorced our politicians are from the people they represent, the more important it is for everyday people to raise their voice and demand change.
I’m running for Congress because we deserve a representative who gets us. I’m a fifth generation Northern Michigander, and I’m proudly running to bring the power back to the people of Michigan’s 1st District.
So, enjoy the hotdogs and the fireworks today – and tomorrow we'll resume the work to bring MI-01’s power back to the people.
Gratefully,
Callie
