Good afternoon, JOHN,

BOTTED!   False story about our race goes national.

This afternoon several people called and asked me if Delegate and former Gubernatorial Candidate Dan Cox was running for US Congress in District 6.  It was reported that he was running online in stories by The Hill, Channel 2 news, the Washington Examiner, and others.

However, WDVM reporter Steve Cohen actually called Delegate Cox to talk with him about the filing.  Mr. Cohen found out the story and the filing was FALSE.  In addition, WDVM Hagerstown Bureau Chief Mark Kraham did serious digging to discover the cause of the rumor.  He  found that a BOT on Twitter had registered many people to run for Congress against their wishes and without their knowledge.

I called Dan to talk about the issue, and understandably, he is not happy about this bot.  He is going to report it, and hopefully we will see someone get prosecuted for tampering with the FEC database.

I don't know who is behind this bot, but in related matters, we do have a major problem with cyber-attacks.

Governmental units like the City of Baltimore, major corporations, and even small companies have been held hostage by programmers in Russia and other places.  Most entities pay the ransom to get control of their data like Baltimore did. In my opinion, this is completely unacceptable.  We should be using the full force of our military to protect US citizens, US companies, and our governments against these cyber-attacks.

Should I run and be able to serve you in Congress, I will work whole-heartedly to get NSA and other military institutions to crack down on these attacks on our economy and well being.

Supreme Court Update:

There is so much good news from our Supreme Court that it is hard to start.  From Friday, two decisions are as follows:

1) A Christian was not forced to use their business to go against her deeply held religious beliefs.
2) President Biden was held in check by not being allowed to abuse Covid-19 mandates to pay for college education debt.  If that is to happen, that must be an act of Congress.

These decisions were 6-3 decisions.  We only won these decisions because President Trump appointed 3 conservative members of the court.  If Hillary Clinton had won, we would have lost these cases and so many more that are helping to maintain our freedoms and get our country going in the right direction.

Please remember, whoever wins for President this year is critical not only to running the country, but to keeping the court going in a positive direction.  We need people to vote this year in larger numbers than ever before to secure this win.

I will talk more about this later, but the Republican initiative to "Bank your Vote" is going to be critical for us to get the numbers we need.  You can learn more about that by going tohttps://bankyourvote.com/.
