LEARN HOW TO PREPARE FOR CLIMATE DISASTERS Get You and Your Family Ready for Summer's Extreme Heat and Flooding
The climate crisis disproportionately impacts communities of color, which is why we are hosting a series of emergency preparedness workshops throughout Northern Manhattan this summer. During these in-person workshops, we will distribute our award-winning Climate Ready Uptown Plan (CRUP) pamphlet (in English and in Spanish) to attendees. Participants will gain a better understanding of their individual risk to climate-related disasters – specifically extreme heat and coastal and stormwater flooding – and how to use and personalize their version of CRUP to prepare themselves and their families for these emergencies. Join us on July 6 at 12:00 PMvia Zoom for our Extreme Heat Virtual Briefing. You can learn about heat vulnerability, how to stay safe at home during heatwaves, and how neighborhoods can be better protected from high temperatures through policy and community preparedness. We want to open a conversation about how extreme heat impacts you, how you deal with it, and share resources to help make your community more resilient. In additional to special guest speakers, we will be releasing WE ACT’s 2023 Extreme Heat Agenda. RSVP
