Black girls will not be left behind
Two things happened last week that should have outraged (but not surprised) you.
1. A scathing ProPublica Article that called out Richmond Public Schools on the drastic learning loss due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The article reported an average loss of 1.96 years of math instruction and 1.45 years of reading instruction.
2. The Affirmative Action decision by the Supreme Court rolling back equal protection under the guise of "merit" and "colorblindness."
We know this: Black students will again suffer from a system that consistently leaves them behind. Michael Paul Williams of the Richmond Times Dispatch recently posed the question: "Richmond's school children are being left behind: What are we going to do about it?"
We can proudly say that Girls For A Change is here with solutions.
