30 Points for a Stronger Memphis
17 of 30: The Fourth
Team,
Tomorrow we will celebrate the Fourth of July. Many of us will gather at neighborhood and family picnics and gatherings. Together, we will celebrate the day that says, as Americans, we are, by nature, not willing to settle. We will wave flags, play games, watch fireworks, and we will remember the reasons we are proud of our country.
And, as I think about those America-centric celebrations, I am planning another one. I am preparing to help our entire community celebrate the pride of living in Memphis. And I am ready to do everything it takes to make Memphis a stronger, safer, cleaner, and more connected community.
You can read my Plan for Memphis here [[link removed]] . It calls for strong actions to combat crime, more investment in workforce development, creating partnerships to create cleaner and more connected neighborhoods, leaning into our creative community and the rich culture of our city, and establishing partnerships and programs to serve our youth. It lays out what is needed to create a Memphis worth celebrating.
So, if you are with me in wanting to find more reasons to be proud of our community, if you are ready to help create a Memphis that better supports our neighborhoods and citizens, please share our message with your friends. In the spirit of the Fourth of July - I am going to ask you each to share it with four people you know - four people you know from church, or from school; four people you know from work or the gym. Pick four people over the next week and tell them that our platform is tough on crime and focused on community. Or maybe pick four points from the plan [[link removed]] and share those with everyone in your social network.
Because you - our supporters - will tell our story best. You know that I believe in the future of Memphis. You know that I am not only tough on crime, but more importantly, I will be smart on crime. You know that I am committed to creating a stronger, cleaner, more creative, and vibrant Memphis. You know I have been preparing for this job for my entire career. And you know that I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work, day one.
And you know that together we will create more reasons to celebrate Memphis.
Let’s go!
How I Know Paul:
[[link removed]] The more I learn about Paul, the more I am blown away. You can’t throw a rock in this city without hitting a part of town that Paul has touched - that he has made better. Memphis will continue to benefit from the work he has done for decades to come as projects he initiated continue to serve the people of Memphis. I can’t wait to see what he can do in City Hall where his leadership - and common sense/fairness - will shine and help unify Memphis. I am so hungry for that.
For me, it feels good to move past anxiety and dig into hope. Do your homework on this election, yall! Then you’ll be like me: ALL for Paul!! I mean it. I love a good list, and if you make a list of Paul’s qualifications, you’ll know who is BEST for our city – and best by a long shot.”
