Dear John,
Hi. I’m Sadé. I’m a 24/7 sandwich caregiver for my parents and my incredible kid, Ark. I also work here at Caring Across and secure funding for all our work to make sure caregivers in the U.S. can thrive (not just survive). And, let me tell you, I need a break! I know you can relate.
So, with that, I’m happy to announce – this week, the Caring Across offices are closed between July 3rd and July 10th. We won’t be answering calls, responding to emails, or working with legislators and partners. Our staff is taking this time to intentionally pause so we can reset and think on how we can do our jobs better upon our return.
Help our hard working staff take a moment to regroup by donating $5 right now. [[link removed]]

It’s so hard for normal family caregivers like you and me to rest, even though study after study shows us how important self care is for doing our work – whether it be caring for our families or making the world a better place. If I can be frank, the care system in the U.S. is set up for us to burn out and fail.
All of us at Caring Across know just how big a task we’re taking on to change the care and healthcare system in the U.S. We’re building a system rooted in collective care – and taking time to tend to our mental and physical health is more than a privilege or luxury in that process.
Our rest is crucial for ensuring we can achieve the kind of systemic change we want to achieve – and we need your help, John. Your support allows us to model the kind of collective care system we’re trying to create, where we all take care of one another.
To ensure we can continue to model collective care and prioritize the well-being of our staff for years to come, will you consider making a $5 donation to Caring Across today? [[link removed]]
We’ll see you next week,
Sadé Dozan, Chief of Development & Operations
Caring Across Generations
P.S. We know not everyone is able to contribute at this time and know many of you are facing the challenges of navigating caregiving alone and without systemic support. That’s why, when we’re back and rested up, we’ll jump back into the fight for the care systems we deserve.
A gift to Caring Across Generations helps us win affordable child care for parents, paid leave for all, and accessible aging and disability care for everyone who needs it. Because #CareCantWait for families and communities across the U.S.
